“Grandpa” reveals a personal and intimate narrative through observation, reflection and from my relation with my grandfather. It is an autobiographical photographic portrayal of family relationship.
My grandfather is 87 years old and he’s holding on well on his feet. Since my grandmother passed away, nine years ago, he lives with his three cats, Berlelun 1, 2 and 3 – there’s a tradition concerning cat names. All the cats were named like this. The Berlelun family.Living in a small village in Romania, his daily routine is taking care of the Berleluns, listening to radio, doing crosswords, which he really loves , and he never leaves his yard. Actually he likes being alone, but also enjoys home visits from us. He never speaks about death. My parents and my uncles are the ones that take care of him.
