FLORENTIA, the original Latin word for the city Florence, hand made detail
La Nonna di Florentia
A project started in July 2023 is a heartfelt tribute to the artistry of Italian heritage, born from a deep passion for the past and a love for timeless craftsmanship.
Each vintage and antique piece in this curated collection tells its own story, carefully sourced from Italy’s bustling flea markets, vintage fairs, and hidden treasure troves.
Crafted from natural materials like cotton, muslin, linen, and lace, these pieces carry their own histories and are thoughtfully curated by Alexandra Jitariuc, the creative force behind the project who brought it also in Bucharest, Romania.
“Throughout my life, I have been drawn to the simplicity and rhythm of slow, cyclical processes in nature. This project gives me the opportunity to embrace and reflect at this connection even more.
I love to go in villages near Florence between olives trees and vineyards in search for treasures. I like in general to transform dreams in reality.”
La Nonna di Florentia honors the connection between generations, offering quality garments for women who value authenticity, delicate texture and handmade details.
The greatest gift in this journey has been witnessing the connections formed through the pieces I collect—how they become part of someone’s space, story, or memory.
Whether they evoke a feeling, preserve a moment, or simply spark joy, it’s this emotional thread that makes the work so meaningful. At the heart of it all is a deep appreciation for the beauty found in everyday life, and a shared love for the little things that bring us closer.
